✦ In plain words

An atheist is someone who isn't convinced that any god exists. That's all. It isn't a religion, there's no holy book, and it doesn't mean having no morals. This site shows the reasons, gently and with evidence, for anyone from age 10 to 100.

Simple or detailed?

Open Choose Your Path at the top of any page to switch between Simple (short, easy explanations plus the hands-on models) and Detailed, to make the text bigger, or to switch to light mode.

The original languages

Read the Bible for yourself

Every verse reference on this site opens a pop-up with the original Hebrew or Greek, each word's dictionary meaning, and three English translations side by side. Try one:

Genesis 1:6–8 · Isaiah 40:22 · Psalm 22:16 · Matthew 5:17–19 · 1 John 5:7

Psalm 22:16 (Hebrew v.17)
כִּי סְבָבוּנִי כְּלָבִים עֲדַת מְרֵעִים הִקִּיפוּנִי כָּאֲרִי יָדַי וְרַגְלָי
KJV: "…they pierced my hands and my feet."
Hebrew: "…like a lion, my hands and my feet."

One word, two very different readings. This is why the original matters.

A promise

Every page includes the best reply from the other side, in words believers would recognize. Facts and beliefs are labeled separately. If something here is wrong, it gets fixed, not defended.

  1. Pew Research Center, Religious "Nones" in America (2024). USGS, Age of the Earth.
  2. Visuals: Earth textures from the three.js project's example assets (MIT-licensed repository), derived from NASA imagery; all other scenes are drawn in code. Models are illustrations, not to scale. The galaxy count is a conservative figure; published estimates range from hundreds of billions to about two trillion. Universe timeline: first light (cosmic microwave background) ≈380,000 years; first stars ≈100–200 million years (approximate).
  3. Flood-story markers on the map are well-known examples (Mesopotamia, Israel, Greece, India, China, the Americas, Norse myth, Aboriginal Australia). Floods are common everywhere, so widespread flood myths aren't by themselves evidence of one global flood. See Borrowed stories.
