Why I'm an Atheist
No one has to take my word for it. This site explains the big questions step by step, with models you can spin, experiments you can do yourself, the Bible in its original Hebrew and Greek, and a source for every key claim.

An atheist is someone who isn't convinced that any god exists. That's all. It isn't a religion, there's no holy book, and it doesn't mean having no morals. This site shows the reasons, gently and with evidence, for anyone from age 10 to 100.
Use the buttons at the top of every page:
Simple shows short, easy explanations and the hands-on models. Detailed shows everything. AA makes the text bigger, and the moon switches to dark mode.
Where would you like to start?
The whole story on one page
From the Big Bang to the first religions, with a calendar that squeezes 13.8 billion years into one year.
I believe, but I have questionsHow we got the Bible
Original languages, copying changes and translation choices, explained fairly, with the believers' best answers included.
Show me the evidenceHow science works
Why science isn't a "faith," how it corrects itself, and why the "God of the gaps" keeps shrinking.
I like big questionsThe arguments, both sides
Every major argument for God in its best form, the replies, and life's meaning without God.
Read the Bible for yourself
Every verse reference on this site opens a pop-up with the original Hebrew or Greek, each word's dictionary meaning, and three English translations side by side. Try one:
Genesis 1:6–8 · Isaiah 40:22 · Psalm 22:16 · Matthew 5:17–19 · 1 John 5:7
Hebrew: "…like a lion, my hands and my feet."
One word, two very different readings. This is why the original matters.
Every topic
Grouped by subject. Every page links to the pages it connects with, or see them all on the topic map.
A few numbers
Every page includes the best reply from the other side, in words believers would recognize. Facts and beliefs are labeled separately. If something here is wrong, it gets fixed, not defended.
